Agile transformation is a high priority for a rapidly increasing number of organizations. Based on our information, most of the companies have started practicing Scrum to be agile and few of them exploring other options as well like Kanban, SAFe, Lean, LeSS and XP etc. We have trained people from more than 50 organizations in Malaysia and heard some wonderful stories about success and failure with Scrum.
How to stay motivated and contribute in organization growth?
1. Effective Change Agent
Have you acquired skills like facilitation, coaching and mentoring people and people related processes to bring change within organization and team. Many change agents only look after processes but without better culture and mindset they don’t sustain for long. The more we focus on humanizing organization, the more people-centric coaches needed. We strongly believe change in process has to start with change in people’s behavior.
2. Supportive Management
We need managers but how many of they have been contributing in change? Have we change the management style to deal with millennials or still practicing age-old Taylorism? Are you enabling structural change in your organization, identifying processes that are no longer contributing to change and focusing on improving efficiency by changing the way of working? Agile way of working has introduced many challenges for managers including talent and performance management. How well you have prepared yourself to deal with it?
3. Demanding Business People
Technologies and way of working changing so the need of business. To stay relevant, business is demanding more in less time. We don’t always have the capacity or we don’t know how to prioritize business needs. Do we need to work like customer and supplier within organization or change our way of working to partner with business? Is business people open to partner? May or may not, but depend how much they know about your processes and transparency. Most importantly, business people need to know about agile and benefit of collaboration to have realistic demand and improved collaboration.

4. Performing Delivery Team
Only getting managers for training is not enough unless you have better processes in place. Delivery team is closest to information and enabling them will have greater benefit. Is your team working on digital transformation projects? Do they practice Spec such as, BDD, TDD, refactoring, emergent design, agile testing or DevOps? Are they aware about Scrum, Kanban and Lean to make right decision? These are things that will help in having high-performing team.
